MTSS Team
What is MTSS?
Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) is defined as a whole-school, data-driven, prevention-based framework for improving learning outcomes for EVERY student through a layered continuum of evidence-based practices and systems.
What does the MTSS team at Sandburg do?
The MTSS team, formerly known as the Student Intervention Team (SIT), is a collaborative and multi-disciplinary school-based problem-solving team to support individual student growth.
The MTSS team meets with grade-level teachers to consult and/or develop interventions for students who may likely benefit from additional support with academics, social/emotional skills, and/or behavior in the general education environment. Interventions are implemented for 6 to 8 weeks, progress is monitored regularly, and data is reviewed periodically to assess student growth.
